At Cantonese Taoist funeral you will often see a ‘yellow notice’ (黄榜) pasted somewhere near the coffin area during the wake. This is a notice that contains information of the deceased.
One of the information ‘Soul Path’ (魂游), is often being misled into believed that the soul of the deceased will be reincarnated into one of the mentioned paths as shown in the ‘yellow notice’ (黄榜) in their next life.
However, the correct explanation of this ‘Soul Path’ (魂游) is that the soul of the deceased will pass through one of the six paths before reaching the hell for judgement by the ten King of Hell.
Re-incarnation will only be known after the judgement.
The six paths in the Cantonese funeral ‘yellow notice’ (黄榜) refers to:

而通常,当人们看到黄榜里提到的”魂游”, 常会被误导成逝者的灵魂来世将会被轮回成黄榜里提到的其中一道而投胎托生. 那是不正確的.
在黄榜里的“魂游”的真正解説是 – 逝者的灵魂将会途经六道 (天,地,人,佛,鬼,畜) 的其中一道到达地狱. 它们必须途经这其中一道才能到达地府经过十殿阎王的审判才知道来世的轮回.
